Helical Pile Installation and Safety

Installation of helical piles is safe and fairly straight-forward provided proper equipment and procedures are maintained to produce consistent results.  In part, the simplicity of installation has been a catalyst to the growing popularity of helical piles.  Nonetheless, installation of helical piles, like any deep foundation, can have its share of challenges due in large part to constantly changing and variable subsurface conditions.  Helical Piles Chapter 2 contains some of the basic equipment and procedures for safe helical pile installation.  Injected within the basic information are some tips and suggestions to improve the installation process.
